Breakthrough, White Mountains, New Hampshire

Bad weather is good weather for a photographer. I spent an entire morning paddling around in foggy/socked in conditions at this location getting reflection shots like the first post in this fall foliage sequence. Towards midday, the clouds started to break apart on the surrounding mountains and there were a few dramatic moments where intense beams of light broke through holes in the clouds spot lighting colorful patches of fall foliage. Moral of the story, do not be alarmed by a "bad" forecast!
