Fall Foliage 2018 Part 3 New Hampshire

Though my main trips this foliage season were out of state, I certainly did shoot in my home state. This post will be short on words. Enjoy the photos!

Sometimes the best fall colors are in the sky. Nice Fall Sunrise

Purple Rain:

The first sunset of calendar fall 2018 was pretty spectacular at Chocorua Lake

Waterfalls in the Whites
We had a wet October, which combined with the leaf drop made for some nice looking waterfall shots in the Whites.

Abstract blur of leaves on the ground. I don't normally create images like this, but I noticed the even spacing of different colors on the ground and experimented with different shutter speeds and slowly moving the camera in a straight line downward and was pretty happy with this result. Maybe this can be my million dollar Peter Lik print!

One of the best bets to catch the first good early fall foliage color is the Zealand Valley area in the White Mountains. Despite a warm September which delayed the start of the fall foliage this season, Zealand delivered some nice pockets of early color.

Wildlife Pond just as the low level fog was breaking apart shortly after sunrise.

A few shots near or off of the Zealand Trail and A-Z Trail:

Storm in Franconia Notch

Driving back from Vermont, I got some interesting shots in Franconia Notch

Clouds zipping past Cannon cliffs

Late color in Central New Hampshire

I always enjoy finding intriguing spots in the middle of nowhere as the result of my own rambles. This was such a spot, at the lip of a ravine. I knew this had potential in late October, when the beeches, oaks, and late turning species of maple would make this look great. The fog and snow added an unexpected dimension to this shot.

That's it for now for Fall 2018. I still have some more to process but time to move on.
