Bald Eagle, Umbagog Lake

While kayaked a wild part of the Androscoggin River near Lake Umbagog I encountered 5 bald eagles. I was sitting in my kayak for almost half an hour, waiting for this one to take flight watching for the telltale sign it was about to happen. Eagles, and most other raptors, will lift their tail and poop right before taking flight. I was getting a great upper body workout holding my heavy lens paddling to prevent drifting away in the current.
