Flume Covered Bridge at the Flume Gorge in Winter - White Mountains, New Hampshire

I usually shy away from photographing manmade structures, but in this case I think it made for the perfect December image. The Flume Covered Bridge was built in 1871 and is located in Franconia Notch State Park along the trail to the Flume Gorge as it crosses the Pemigewasset River. I love the contrast of the vibrant red paint with the monochrome snowy forest. It was lightly snowing when I photographed it last December and I think the snow streaks added to the very Christmas time mood!
