Winter Whisper - Simplicity

Acadia National Park, February. A frozen in place stand of seaweed caught my eye on a 10-degree morning with horrific windchills and intermittent flurries.
Sand beach was catching reflected light off the surrounding cliffs at sunrise and the light was very appealing. The snow flurries would stick to scattered pieces of frozen seaweed without melting. A close look at the sand reveals them to be "microscopic granite boulders" that have all of the different kinds and colors of granite that are present in the park. In this way, the shot condenses some key elements of Acadia into one scene: unique geology and the action of the sea.
