April: Spring Flow

April to me is all about waterfalls and streams filling with snowmelt and the promise of green soon returning. In Northern New England leaf out isn't until mid to late May, but I am eagerly anticipating it. In 2021 I couldn't wait any longer, and took a road trip down to Virginia, where I captured this in the George Washington National Forest. I know, its the only non-New England shot I have ever included in my calendar. But I think it speaks to the experience of a spring stream with vibrant freshly leafed out trees just as well.
