March: Yellow Warbler in Spring, New Hampshire

By March, people in New England are over winter, even though it is often a still cold and snowy month. I chose to use this image, which was actually shot during the May warbler migration, to offer some bright and green hope for the spring to come. This male yellow warbler, disguisable by a beautiful magenta flame pattern on his breast, was singing that morning. I was so happy he chose this as one of his perches as I loved the simple geometry on the lichen covered branch and the clean green background.
